Reid Coolsaet recorded a lifetime best and the second best performance in Canadian history Sunday morning at the BMW Berlin Marathon in Berlin, Germany. Coolsaet’s time of 2:10:29 came within 20 seconds of Jerome Drayton’s nearly 40 year old Canadian record. Coolsaet finished sixth overall in the race that is widely regarded as one of the top marathons in the world. Coolsaet used nearly even splits to record the performance coming through halfway in 64 minutes 57 seconds. Throughout the race he consistently moved up through the pack before finishing 6th, one spot behind Geoffrey Mutai, who has run the second fastest marathon ever.
